Slide to the temple and release. To use as an in-ear thermometer, take off the probe cover and place the probe in the ear canal before pressing the button. You can also measure the temperature of an object (many parents use it for a milk bottle!) or room.

COLOR ALERTS
This thermometer uses visual and auditory alerts to capture your attention, although the sounds can be muted so you don’t wake a sleeping child. Temperatures considered normal (<99.5 degrees F) result in a green screen and one long beep, while temperatures indicating a low-grade fever (99.5 degrees F to 100.4 degrees F) show a yellow screen and give 3 short beeps. A high fever (100.4 degrees F and above) results in a red screen and a series of 5 short beeps.

MEMORY STORAGE
Temperature tracking during an illness can help dictate treatment and allow you to give doctors more complete information if medical attention is needed.
